Severe Weather Possible- Starkville, MS

This is the current severe weather outlook according to the Storm Prediction Center.  Severe thunderstorms are expected to develop tomorrow in parts of Oklahoma and western Arkansas and push east overnight making their way through Starkville by Friday afternoon.  Latest models show relatively high amounts of instability along with ample moisture and warm air.  However, unlike the last round of severe weather, southeasterly surface winds and west winds aloft make the environment much more favorable for the development of tornadoes.  Although it may seem unethical to predict a tornado outbreak, the Storm Prediction Center says a "tornado outbreak is becoming increasingly possible".  Thunderstorms and some supercells are expected to develop during the afternoon across most of Mississippi and track to the east and northeast.  Some of which will produce large hail, damaging winds, and the possibility of strong long-tracked tornadoes.  Stay aware of rapidly changing weather and alerts from the National Weather Service.  I will have more updates tomorrow and during the day Friday as severe weather develops.
