This is the current snow total forecast for Leesburg. I think areas in and around Leesburg will finish this storm off with 7 to 8 inches of snow easily. Areas west of Leesburg toward the mountains will see 8 to 10 inches, with isolated totals up to 12 inches. Areas in and around D.C. will see totals from 3 to 5 inches of snow, with lower totals further east toward the bay. These totals are also slightly on the lower side because warmer air already in place will cause precipitation to begin as rain in most areas. The faster the cold air moves in and changes it over to snow the higher the totals will be. However, at this point I feel confident saying 7 inches for Leesburg. I'll update this map tomorrow morning as the storm progresses.
This is the current weather advisory map. Most of the area is still under a Winter Storm Watch (dark blue), which will likely be turned into a Winter Storm Warning. Areas along the mountains and to the south and west of Leesburg are under a Winter Storm Warning (pink) from 7AM Wednesday morning through Midnight Wednesday night/Thursday morning.
