It looks like temperatures will finally start to warm up here in Starkville. This map shows the general pattern over the next week across the south. We'll see high pressure build and push inland across Georgia and continue northeast. As it does, winds here will shift from the north and west to the south and southwest over the next 2 days, bringing in warmer air from the Gulf of Mexico. Current models show this high pressure ushering in warm air through the end of next week before a cold front pushes in out of the Great Plains and brings our next chance of rain sometime around Friday or Saturday. Temperatures will likely be in the middle 60s throughout the day starting Sunday, with morning lows in the lower 30s. This will continue through Tuesday before temperatures get even warmer. Wednesday through Friday we could see temperatures around 70 during the day with continued clear skies.
The same high pressure will also effect Leesburg bringing warmer air to the area next week. Temperatures there will likely warm up to the middle 50s, possibly reaching 60 by the end of next week. Get out and enjoy the warm weather while it lasts!
