Snowfall Forecast and Timing for Tonight-Starkville, MS

This is the current snowfall forecast accumulation.  I think areas around the I-82 corridor may see up to 1/2" of snow tonight mainly on grass and cars.  The roads will be too warm for snow to stick.  Areas around Tupelo may see as much as 2 inches of snow, however most areas will see around 1 inch.  The "bulls eye" for this storm will be in western Tennessee, where they could see 3 to 5 inches of snow.  Areas south of Starkville and Columbus may see a few wet snowflakes mixed in with rain, but will not see any accumulation.

This map shows what time snow will likely begin to mix in with rain.  The delta of Mississippi will most likely see snow begin around 9PM tonight.  Snow will begin to mix in around Starkville, Tupelo, and Columbus by 11PM.  Areas east of there will see snow mix in shortly after midnight as temperatures continue to drop.  Snow will only last for an hour or two before ending shortly after midnight.
