Current Radar

This is the current radar image out of eastern Texas.  Light blue/green is light rain, dark green/yellow is moderate rain, red/purple/pink is heavy rain and thunderstorms.  The blue triangles/red circles along a line mark the cold front/stationary front set up right now.  Most of the thunderstorms are along the southern portion where it is the warmest.  This is where most of the severe weather is going to begin to set up.  The front will push east during the day today causing severe weather in our area.  The areas of light pink behind the rain is sleet and freezing rain, and areas of white are snow.  Right now the heaviest snow is just to the northwest of Dallas.  Notice some of the lightning in there...that's very heavy snow probably around 2 to 3 inches per hour.  That's basically thunderstorms in cold air.
