UPDATE- Upcoming Snowstorm for Starkville

This is the current snowfall accumulation map.  I had to agree with the weather service out of Jackson as far as snow totals.  It appears that snow will begin falling in the delta of Mississippi as early as 12PM Wednesday afternoon.  Precipitation may begin as rain just before 2PM, however by 3PM snow should be falling in Starkville.  Areas in and around Starkville can expect to receive 2 to 3 inches of snow by early Thursday morning.  Areas in the delta and farther west can expect as much as 5 inches of snow.  Areas south of Starkville, toward Lousiville can expect upwards of 2 inches, with lower amounts farther south where rain will mix with snow for a larger portion of the storm.  Temperatures will likely be in the mid to upper 30s early in the afternoon Wednesday, before dropping to the upper 20s around 30 by sunset.  Heaviest snowfall will likely occur between 6PM and midnight Wednesday night.  Expect snow to end between 2AM and 3AM Thursday morning.

This is the current advisory map across the state.  Counties in dark blue (including Oktibbeha county) are under a Winter Storm Watch through tomorrow night and can expect snow totals of 1 to 3 inches.  Counties highlighted in pink are under a Winter Storm Warning through midnight Wednesday night, where they can expect as much as 5 inches of snow.  I will update these maps along with my forecast later this evening.
